Doing it yourself
This may appear to be the cheapest way to go for many, but this is misleading. We often get calls from clients who just “can’t any more” on the day, only to find that no-one is available to jump in and assist, because they’re fully booked in advance. DIY Moving carries a high risk of losing your goods, or having them damaged or destroyed, or even a burglary directly afterwards, it’s just dangerous and may cost more than you bargained for.
In our industry it stands for:

De-clutter: And ‘really’ de-clutter. Home moves are quoted for on distance and the size of the load, measured in cubic feet. The less you move, and the shorter the distance, the less you pay. Most members of the public aren’t aware that time is also factored into the costing of a move, so if it’s quick, you’ll also save on labour. If you’re unsure or need help with this, our advisory service is completely obligation-free, and we’ll come to you and survey, offer support and quote on your individual and often unique needs.
Community and sharing costs:
We’ve been members of the Centurion community for more than 30 years; our Warehouse is situated in Sunderland Ridge and our administrative office is in Rooihuiskraal. We have strong community ties through the church and other bodies, such as CPF membership and our support of the Moeggesukkel Recovery Centre.
- Find someone moving on the same day, either the person moving into the home you’re leaving, or a neighbour who is also making a move. We are willing to “share the bill” as it were, if both moves can be done on the same day.
- Refer a friend or neighbour, and we’ll discount or refund you if your referral is successful. We haven’t done this before, but almost 30% of our business is derived from referrals, this tells us we’re good at what we do and that our service is excellent.
- Sponsor a move for someone less fortunate, assist a community member, and we’ll contribute wherever we can to reduce costs. If we don’t take care of one another, who will?
- Give us a call if you represent any group seeking an alliance partner or wish to contribute in any way to utilizing local transport services to assist our community.
Because we’re a family business with a track record of over 50 years and two generations, we are in a great position to make immediate decisions with the community’s best interests at heart. We have a thorough knowledge of our community and business, and we care about our neighbours too, all of you… We are also very grateful for the support we’ve received from this community of ours through the years, and we just wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you.
